One of the most important skills that a person can have is the skill of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (or CPR) properly in the event of an emergency. A proper CPR technique can mean the difference between life and death. Although those who have been previously certified in CPR may still have basic knowledge of the technique, some important knowledge may have faded over the years. In these instances, it is best to seek the assistance of a CPR professional to ensure that the latest methods and techniques are learned. For those who need a CPR or first aid refresher, we offer convenient classes with AHA-certified instructors. Whether an individual is seeking certification for the first time or is in need of a quick recertification option, we have courses to suit every need.

Our courses offer CPR techniques for infants and children as well as adults. For basic training, we offer adult-only courses that focus solely on providing proper CPR methods to adults. For those in the health-care field, we also offer a professional course that is designed for the specific needs of health-care providers. These courses align with the strict regulations and standards that are expected of professionals. Our CPR courses may be grouped with first aid and safety courses to provide additional emergency training. In our courses, we discuss matters such as the number of chest compressions required for each cycle of CPR, the depth each chest compression should be, and hand placement during chest compressions.

    Brushing Up

For adults, there should be 30 compressions in each cycle of CPR, with each compression being around two inches in depth. When it comes to infants and children, the number of compressions still remains at 30, although the depth of each compression should be lessened. For small children and infants, this number should be around one and a half inches. For infants, however, an entire hand is not necessary during CPR chest compressions. Two to three fingers is generally enough pressure for the small chest of an infant. Rescue breaths for all ages should be two breaths for each set of 30 chest compressions. Along with these matters, our courses also cover information on when to perform CPR, how to tell if someone is in need of CPR, and how to secure professional help when performing CPR while alone.

The guidelines and CPR statistics are updated every five years to best reflect the newest findings and practices. By taking a CPR or first aid refresher course, individuals can ensure that they are giving those in need the best possible chance of surviving cardiac arrest or another emergency situation that requires CPR. When someone performs this technique properly and quickly before paramedics can arrive on the scene, a victim is given nearly triple the chance of surviving. Of those who do not receive CPR before arriving in a hospital, there is only an eight percent chance of survival. With such shocking numbers, it’s easy to see why it is necessary for more individuals to be trained to provide this service to those around them.

We understand that life is hectic at times and finding the time to attend a traditional course can seem nearly impossible. This is why we offer a first aid refresher as well as a CPR refresher course online. With a first aid or CPR refresher online, individuals are able to attend courses and complete course material on their own time. This is especially helpful for those in the health-care field who require up-to-date certifications for employment purposes. As an added bonus, we offer a 100% guarantee that employers will accept our certifications. In the rare event that an employer would not accept our certification, we will refund 100% of our first aid or CPR refresher online course costs.
