The honest part: no one accredits online CPR
Here's something most providers won't tell you: there is no organization that accredits online CPR and AED certification programs, nationwide or worldwide. If you see a fully online course advertised as "AHA-accredited," that accreditation does not exist.
What actually matters is whether a program follows the right guidelines and whether employers accept the credential. So here's exactly what we can demonstrate.
Built on AHA and ILCOR guidelines
The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation sets resuscitation standards across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and Asia, and the American Heart Association is its US member. Our curriculum is built on AHA guidelines, which are the US industry standard. The AHA publishes those guidelines — it does not accredit or endorse any provider's program, ours included. Following them properly is the meaningful part, and that's what carries weight with employers.
Recognized by ILCOR member organizations
Our card is accepted across ILCOR member countries, including organizations such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the European Resuscitation Council, the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa, the New Zealand Resuscitation Council, the Resuscitation Council of Asia, the InterAmerican Heart Foundation, the Australian Resuscitation Council, and the American Heart Association.
Approved by licensing boards
Where state and national boards decide which programs their professionals may use, we've done the work to be on the list:
- National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork — Approved Provider #1000650
- American Pharmacists Association — Adult CPR & AED, Basic Life Support, and First Aid
- Philadelphia Department of Public Health — Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
- Florida Board of Massage Therapy
Not sure about your employer? We'll talk to them
If you'd like certainty before you buy, we'll contact your employer directly, introduce ourselves, and walk them through the program and what it covers. In almost every case, that conversation ends with them accepting the card. Get in touch and we'll take it from there.
